The Perfect Picture

Sometimes you take a picture that makes you smile.

A picture that makes you smile for all of the reasons that you wouldn't expect.

It doesn't make you smile because it's the perfect picture and you realize that you really are Ansel Adams after all.

It doesn't make you smile because it was the picture you intended to take and you think it would look nice in the frame you just bought on sale at Hobby Lobby.

It doesn't even make you smile because you think it is a picture that would make someone else smile...or that it would even be a picture someone else would actually get.

But as you are culling through your pictures, sorting out the ones to keep and the ones to delete...you see it, you stop...and you smile.

It's just that kind of picture. The kind of picture that makes you feel and that makes you remember.

The kind of picture that makes you smile for all of the reasons you wouldn't expect.

Ahem.

This is one of those to me:

Ruby Sinatra.

For those who can't decipher the above picture (or may even be a little freaked out), that's okay. You're probably not alone.

But this picture makes me feel. It makes me remember. It makes me smile.

So, I think I'll keep it.
